One Irish town has taken action to do something about the level of waste as a result of single use coffee cups and the impact on the environment.

Killarney in Co. Kerry has banned single use coffee cups completely. When you go to get your coffee you either bring your own reusable cup with you, or you pay €2 for a reusable cup. If you return the reusable cup you get a full refund of the €2 you spent – sounds like an eco-deal!

What a wonderful initiative from Killarney!

You don’t have to wait for your town to do the same – you can bring your own reusable cup with you to reduce the number of single use coffee cups you use.
