Petrol and Diesel consumption continues to increase

According to the Sustainable Energy Authority, Ireland is on track to consume 4% more petrol and diesel in road transport in 2023 vs 2022.

Instead of reducing our reliance on fossil fuels for transport, we are still increasing!

Whilst we will start to benefit soon from the strong take up in Electric car ownership in Ireland there are still some things we can do to reduce petrol and diesel usage:

We can choose to cut out one trip per week in our cars by choosing to use another form of transport for all or part of the journey, or by cutting out the trip altogether.

We know not everyone will have the choice, but some of us do – even this small change can make a huge difference if enough people commit to it.

Imagine contributing to make a 10% reduction or 20% reduction together!

We have a choice – make the right choice!
